There are various ways to present the Bible for spiritual growth. The teacher can set themselves up as the authority concerning what the Bible means. Or, they can teach you how to go to Jesus for the interpretation. Some present their thoughts on the subject; others present their laws and rules on the subject; and still others just throw out the general material and leave it up to you to figure out what it all means. However, you need all those Scriptures that teach you how to come to Jesus and He will tell you what it means.

John 16:13-14 (NIV) But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to Me by taking from what is Mine and making it known to you.

If the objectives of the training class or material is to interpret the Bible for you, then they are the final authority. But, if their objective is to help each person establish their own personal relationship with Jesus, then Jesus will be that person’s final authority. Once that happens, that person starts getting result in their life. The fact that the Bible truths start working, is their proof that they have learned and applied the truth.

A lot of the struggles Christians have with Jesus’ teaching is caused by a major misunderstanding of what Jesus is asking them to do. He is asking you to trust Him, as He teaches you how to run a marriage, family, business, career, friendship, or your life in general. Then, as you pray, He empowers you to be able to do it.

The thing is, Jesus uses the Scriptures in these studies and prayers to help you see how easy it is to apply His teachings to your everyday life. And, they show you why those things you were taught in the world are extremely wrong, bad, and hurtful to you and those around you. Jesus’ teachings show you how to win at this life in such a way that you also win in eternity.

Often, in this world, you aren’t being given the freedom to learn those things that actually work in real life. With Jesus, you will be able to use life-results, as your test for learning truth; if it is true, then it will work in real life.

If a professor is a “pretty” good instructor with a “pretty” good education and a “pretty” good teaching ability, then your education will usually be only pretty good. But, if you are being trained by one of the best, then you will have the opportunity to get the best education possible; that is why you yield to the Bible and Jesus to instruct you; He and the Bible are the very best!

The question is, do you really consider the Bible to be Jesus’ final authority for what Christianity is all about? Then a lot of Scriptures will have to be used to present Christianity. If Jesus, Who caused the Bible to be written, is the final authority for what it all means, then you must allow Him to give you His interpretation.

Here’s the big issue that you need to consider: Christian leaders come from all walks of life. Some of them are very successful in life. However, others are very good at speaking, leading, teaching, and counseling. But, if you were to go where they live, you would see a very different life from what they present to the public. They teach the information they have learned; but, they aren’t living it. You must be taught by those who are living what they teach.

There is actually only One Teacher, Leader, Speaker, and Counselor Who lives those things He presents. He and the Book He caused to be written, the Bible, are the only material you can totally trust your life to.

Jesus’ objective is to help you be convinced that this is the training and spiritual growth you need. If you are partially convinced, then you will start this program with a casual and a secondary commitment. The truth of the matter is, this is actually a vital decision you are considering. He is providing you with spiritual food, that will help you in ways you won’t often get the opportunity to receive.

Most books, sermons, studies, small groups, and church services have to be a “one-size-fits-all” presentation. If a church service is too mature in its presentation, the new and the weak will be overwhelmed. If the books are too mature, few will buy them; if small groups, retreats, and seminars are too intense, many will drop out. But, if they are too simple, no one ends up growing into spiritual adulthood, as a child of God.

On the WCTLC website, you are being given a wide variety of studies and prayers that will meet you where you are. Pray and ask Jesus where He wants you to start. Ask Him to help you give up your opinions, so you can get involved in those studies and prayers that will meet your immediate needs. He knows the programs and He knows you. Let Him guide you in the direction that will be perfect for you.

So, if you feel you are adequately convinced that this is something that is very important for you to add to your life, you can start asking Jesus to empower you to join Him in these studies and prayer times. You can ask Him to help you find a place where you can work with Him in private. And, you can ask Him to help you find a time that would work well for you to spend time with Him five days a week.
