Jesus said in John 8:32 (NIV): “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Jesus has a reason for you facing the life-issues you are facing. He has a purpose for what you are going through right now. They aren’t coming at you so as to wear you down, damage you, or defeat you. They are the life-issues that Jesus wants to use to train you how to win over them.

Just like a sports team gets trained to win over an opposing team, Jesus is your coach for winning at life. A winning sports team is a well trained, well practiced, and well experienced team. Jesus will use these studies and prayer times to help you be a well trained, well practiced, and well experienced person. He will help you start your day studying and praying, then you and He will go out and practice what you learned and received.

As a sports team gets ready for the season, they have a tremendous amount of times for training and practice. All those things they experience in training get them ready for the actual game. If they have a good coach and they are receptive players, all those things they practiced and learned, were the very things they faced, when they played against the opposing team. Jesus wants to do that for you.

There will be no surprises, when you go out and face life. There won’t be any new rules that you and Jesus didn’t go over. There won’t be any confusion about why things are happening the way they are happening. Because you have the best coach and you are the best student, you will know exactly what to do, when you face a certain situation. It will take time and training; but, it will happen. Your studies and prayers get you ready for your day’s life-class.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:25 (NIV): “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? While you are out there working on getting your food and clothing, Jesus will be teaching you how to win at the bigger, more important issues of life.

It is true you have to earn money to pay your bills and buy the things you need. But, is that all there is to life? While you are going through the “normal” routines of your life, Jesus wants to be training you to achieve things that go far beyond the rat race or the humdrum of life. You won’t just be out there earning a living; you will be out there being trained by Jesus to win at life.

Jesus wants to train you for advancement. Jesus will be teaching you important things in WCTLC and in your life-classes. You will be growing and able to use them to move forward in life. Rather than just solving a problem and then forgetting about what the solution was, you will be learning how to apply that principle to every area of your life for the rest of your life.

You won’t just be living; you will be living and learning. You won’t just be going through your daily routine; you will be preparing for your future. At the end of a year, you will be a totally different person. Like a freshman student is totally different, when they graduate as a senior, you will advanced, knowledgeable, experienced, trained, and ready for you next challenges of life. You will win!

Why do two opposing teams go out on a field and face one another? They go out there to win. Long before they get out there on the field to face another team, they have been doing what it takes to win. Did you know Jesus has you on this planet to teach you how to win? Did you know that He wants you to face life so as to succeed at it?
