Jesus, help me approach these daily devotions like eating physical food everyday. Show me that I am feeding my inner, spiritual person. Help me accept the fact that I, as a spirit being, need spiritual food more than my body needs physical food. Help me see that, as a spirit person, if I don’t get fed GOOD spiritual food everyday, I will make many more mistakes, fail in many more areas, and make many more bad decisions. My thoughts and emotions will struggle much more. And, I will have to make my decisions without much help from God.

Help me not run my own life without spending time with You. Help me not just do those things I think I should be doing. Since, this is my first time on this planet, my first time being a human; and, my first time being a child of God, help me be humble in my approach to life.

Jesus, people who are also on this planet for the first time, are writing, teaching, and counselling me from their “experiences.” They may be more confident and have more world training than I do; but, help me realize that they are still here for the first time just like I am. You are the Creator of the universe, the Creator of humans, and my Creator. Plus, You came down to earth and lived life before me. Help me accept the fact that You are the ONLY expert on life and how to live as a human successfully. Set me a life pattern that will make me a winner at life BEFORE I end up learning things the hard way.

James 4:1-2 (NIV) What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You want something but don’t get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, BECAUSE you do not ask God.

Since this Scripture is describing what is happening to every person who is leaving You and Your Bible out of their lives, help me know what life is really about. Help me not just have all kinds of THINGS, but not have what it takes to be happy and successful. Head me in the direction of true meaning, purpose, fulfillment, and happiness.

Jesus, before I make any decisions about Devotions With Jesus, help me answer some very important questions. Since these devotions can only be helpful, if they are responding to the desires of my heart, help my heart have the desires that You want me to have.

1. The Pursuit Of God: Jesus, teach me how much God loves me and respects my free will.

2. The Greatness Of God: Jesus, teach me how God balances His power and authority with love, grace, and mercy.

3. The Dream: Jesus, help me understand what God’s special plan is for my life and future.

4. The Children Of God: Jesus, help me live my life based on a special relationship with You and my heavenly Father.

5. The Word Of God: Jesus, help me be open to You giving me a complete appreciation and respect for what God is saying to me through the Bible.

6. Hearing God’s Voice: Jesus, teach me the difference between my thoughts, the world’s philosophies, Satan’s temptations, and God’s influence.

7. God’s Answers To Prayer: Jesus, help me establish a better communication with God that opens the doors to miracles in my life.

8. The Kingdom: Jesus, explain what it means to be a citizen of God’s Kingdom and be living on the basis of its rights and privileges.

9. Born To Win: Jesus, help me live in faith, trust, dependency, and reliance on God’s power to win over the difficulties of life.

10. The Good News: Jesus, move me from a life of always having to win over struggles. Move me to a life filled with joy and happiness.

11. Building Relationships: Jesus, take my relationship with God and help it flow through me to other people.

12. Working With God: Jesus, teach me how to cooperate with, work together with, and yield to God and His provisions.

13. Living The Christ-life: Jesus, help me discover how to work together with You, so I can not only live victoriously myself, but, I will be able to provide the victorious Christian life to those around me.
