Let Jesus help you take a look at the problem you and He face, as you deal with your issue of trusting Him. You probably have seen people get advice from “friends” whose lives were a mess too. They will listen to “professionals” with degrees that NEVER live those things they say; nor, are they getting results from what they teach. Their philosophy is, if you can’t do it, then teach it. The way this has happened to you is through self-trust. YOU DECIDED that this person was the one you were going to listen to. Now that it has, God is trying to help you reject those philosophies and embrace the ones He will be presenting to you from the Bible.

Here are some things you may be feeling. When you DECIDE to do something, you put your self-esteem and reputation on that decision; it becomes YOUR decision. Since it is YOUR decision, you believe and emotionally NEED that decision to be right. You may find yourself fighting those who criticize or reject YOUR decision because that would mean you made a mistake. It is amazing; but, you will defend YOUR decisions just because they are YOUR decisions. Even though they are hurting you and have totally failed you, you will still defend them. But, somehow you and Jesus are going to have to work together so you can realize some of these decisions have been wrong; and, He has a beautiful way of helping you do that.

Jesus has a way of helping you get to the place where you are OPEN to a different way of life. The major way He does this is to not judge, attack, criticize, or find fault with the decisions you have made in the past; He doesn’t require that you be run down or spoken against. Instead, He will provide you with truths from the Bible that will show you how to be able to replace some of your decisions with better ones. This will make it possible for you and Him to deal with any wrong decisions you have made; and it will happen without you being hurt.

God forgives you for all of those things you have done in the past that hurt you, those around you, and Him. He wants to help you crowd the bad decisions out by replacing them with good ones. He will help you reject, renounce, and release your past decisions; you will be glad to get rid of them and will be excited about your new way of life.
