One of the most popular philosophies for trying to get happiness is, you need to find the RIGHT people and the RIGHT things for your life. A lot of people believe that the reason they haven’t found happiness YET is, because they just haven’t found that right person or that right thing for their life.

Doesn’t it make sense that, if you find the right relationships, the right career, move to the right place, and have the right possessions, they would provide you with real and lasting happiness? Masses of people are putting this philosophy to the test everyday and finding it lacking permanent results. They have a life filled with these people, things, and experiences; but, they are still trying to find happiness.

What happens to a person when they find what they think are the right relationships, the right career, the right person, the right goal, the right place to live, or the right opportunity and these people and things let them down? What happens to them when they lose the excitement and thrill and need another source of happiness? Where did the excitement, pleasure, and happiness go? Why are they needing another person, another thing, and another experience? Why are they still empty, sad, dissappointed, and in need of a new experience?

The truth is, even if you find all the right people and things you need, THEY will not be able to give you the happiness you seek. THEY don’t have what you are looking for. THE people you think will make you happy are actually looking for happiness themselves. THEY will be looking to you to make THEM happy. Since neither of you know how to find happiness, you will both disappoint each other; and, it will cause you to leave each other and see if you can find happiness through someone else.
