The Pursuit Of Happiness
Two Happiness Rules
Most people have discovered that everything they do does not make them happy. They have also found out that they aren’t automatically happy all the time. Once they discovered these two things, they started experimenting with various things to see what worked and what didn’t.
Temporary Happiness
Some things seemed to be offering you happiness but you gradually found out they didn’t KEEP making you happy. Some things appeared to work while others just weren’t things you enjoyed.
Eveyone Doesn’t Like The Same Things
Some of your friends and associates like various things and have recommended them to you; but, most of them didn’t work at all. You will typically get to a place where most of your time is spent doing those things you have to do in order to survive.

Happiness With A Price
As you found things you liked and enjoyed, you made them priorities in your life. However, most of these things later proved to have side effects. They provided happiness and fun; but, there were certain aspects to them that you knew weren’t good for you. If you partied until late at night, you were worn out the next day. If you drank, ate, danced, gambled, did drugs, or involved yourself in sexual activities, there were side effects that didn’t make you happy.
Is It Worth The Price?
You enjoyed certain fun things at the time; but, later you had hangovers, depressions, feelings of emptiness, loneliness, guilt, and pain. This made you want to find ways of experiencing happiness and pleasure without these side effects; but, it became obvious that they were inseparable.
